FAQ
Common questions
Which standard covers fire alarm testing?+
NFPA 72 is the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. Fire Solutions NW designs, installs, inspects, and tests to current NFPA 72 requirements.
How often must a fire alarm be inspected?+
Intervals come from the NFPA 72 edition your AHJ references and vary by device. Most commercial systems need annual inspection at a minimum.
Do you provide reports the fire marshal will accept?+
Yes. We deliver NFPA-based inspection reports with deficiencies listed after every visit.
Which fire code applies to my building in Washington or Oregon?+
Your local fire marshal (the AHJ) enforces the adopted state fire code plus any local amendments. In Washington this is based on the IFC via WAC 51-54A-003. Oregon publishes its own Oregon Fire Code.
Code references checked November 2026. Requirements vary by jurisdiction; your AHJ has final say.
